Plan the Color Order

Level: Intermediate

Read the alternating-color rule ahead to design your move order.

Since the tableau must alternate red and black, sketching out the color order before you move a card cuts down on wasted moves.

For example, to move a red Jack you need a black Queen, and that black Queen needs a red King. Trace such chains backward to decide which cards to secure first.

Also consider where the opposite-color card you need is in the stock or waste, and your planning becomes more accurate.
